Welcome to the Scanner Requirements page for The Draw Alive App. This section provides detailed information on the compatible scanners and technical specifications necessary to use the app effectively. Ensuring your scanner meets these requirements will guarantee the best performance and user experience with The Draw Alive App.
1. Must choose USB Plug-and-Play scanner
The scanner must be plug-and-play without requiring any drivers. After connecting the scanner to the computer, open the scanner software. In the camera list within the software,
there should be an option to load the camera, as shown in the image below. Select the corresponding camera.
2. Normal USB Camera
The camera must be positioned directly above the center of the paper, without any tilt, ensuring that the image is not skewed (the paper should not appear trapezoidal in the
camera's view).
3. Ambient Lighting
If the scanner has built-in lighting, turn it on. If there is no built-in lighting, the environment must be bright enough to avoid any shadows on the paper, as shadows could block
the QR code, making the paper unrecognizable.
4. Paper and Background Requirements
The paper must be A4-sized. The background of the camera's view must be pure black; otherwise, the paper cannot be properly cropped, and the software will fail to recognize
the paper. As shown in the image below, the surroundings of the paper are entirely black.
5. Paper Scanning Shortcut Key
The shortcut key for scanning paper is the number 1 on the numeric keypad. If there is no button for pressing to scan, you can use the keyboard instead. Pressing the key once
will initiate a scan.
